Emotional Wellbeing and Intervention
Welcome to the EWI Team: Jane Richards [Speech and Language]; Alexis McGlone [Therapeutic Counsellor]; Karen Ripley [Learning Support and Nurture] and [CAMHS]. The school promotes a culture of recognising individual needs both immediate and long term. As a ‘team’, our aim is to provide additional and appropriate support when required. Our combined skills allow the students to benefit from a range of alternative learning experiences that compliment the main curriculum.
We appreciate that for some students a ‘traditional timetable’ can be quite daunting. ‘Weaving in’ activities that help our students focus and concentrate on something they feel at ease with ultimately helps increase confidence in the more traditional lessons. We aim to increase the range of options to encourage student participation and belief in themselves as ‘learners’.
